He’s Growing Up!

January 28, 2012 by NZ Filbruns Leave a Comment

My baby is growing up fast (good thing we’ll soon have a littler  one!).  He spent 1 1/2-2 hours this evening playing by himself with these toys. Esther and I were working in the kitchen, and could hear him making up stories and carrying on conversations as he played.  So special!

She has a huge tree, and she got all she wanted off it, then told us we could pick the rest. They got four huge boxes full–probably about two bushels. Now, what do I do with two bushels of apricots! I went to Cheviot and got some pectin, and made a batch of jam. Last year I learned how to make plum jam; this year apricot. I also made two apricot crisps. Gayle suggested canning a bunch in pint jars for his lunches; they’ll fit nicely in his lunch box. Need to get some sugar tomorrow! I’m thankful they aren’t dead ripe yet; we can wait till Monday.
